BYU Vocal Point
Vocal Point reaches new heights in a cappella music. Vocal Point's nine-man vocal firepower propels harmonies far beyond traditional four-part possibilities and combines rich vocal talent with clever arrangements and staging in an electrifying concert program. With inventive arrangements, humor, and remarkable vocal percussion. Vocal Point continually invigorates audiences and generates fans. Performances will be held at 8:30 p.m. at the Historic Nauvoo Visitors' Center Outdoor Stage, 290 N. Main Street. Performances are free. |

Nauvoo Pageant
The Nauvoo Pageant celebrates the legacy of early Latter-day Saints whose faith brought them to a swampy bend of the Mississippi River. Narrated by Parley P. Pratt, the pageant emphasizes the prophetic mission of Joseph Smith and honors the sacrifice, faith, and courage of the Saints who gave their all to build a city and a temple. The pageant is filled with authentic hymns and folksongs, lively dances, and tender moments that share the joy these early Saints found. Through words taken from journals, sermons, and historic records of the period, the pageant invites all to feel the powerful testimonies of these faithful Saints. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday nights at 8:45 p.m. with pre-show activities beginning at 7:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Free parking is adjacent to the pageant grounds. |

It has long been a Labor Day tradition and it is probably the oldest festival in West Central Illinois.
